The automatic translation feature requires a connection connecting with an external translation provider, like Google Translate or Deepl. To enable this feature, please refer to our administration configuration guide.

When you add a translation, Lango will create a new page and a link between the original content and the translation. Links allow users to easily navigate between available languages and editors to monitor and manage translations.

Select the target language and the provider you want to use for the translation.
If you like, you can customise the title of the page that will contain containing the translation. You can also translate the title by clicking on the translate title button.

When you are ready, click on the add button. The translation request will be placed in a translation queue waiting to be processed. You can check the status of your request in the translation panel.

As soon as the translation is ready, its status will change to current. From that moment, your translation will become active, and you can switch from one language to another using the Language Switcher.

Set a custom destination (Optional)

By default, translations will be created as a sub-page of the source content. If you like, you You can change the destination by selecting a space and a parent page for the new translation.

  • Lango only translates textual contentscontent. Any images, videos or other attachments will be copied to the destination page “as is”"as is". If you need to localize localise them, you can replace attachments by editing the translations, as you would with any other Confluence page.

  • Lango cannot translate third-party macros and will be copied to the destination page “as is”"as is". This is a know limitation due to technical and security restrictions made by Atlassian to marketplace apps that we cannot circumvent.
